An Approachable Commodore

Immediate Past Commodore Fred Bell is a
good man, kind, knowledgeable, patient, and a very fair and wise man,
seemingly reserved but
a very approachable Commodore.
Commodore Bell recently
reminded a fairly new Flotilla 19 member that just because he is District
13’s Commodore is no reason to lose sight of the fact that he is a fellow
Flotilla 19 member, one who is open to mentor, to answer questions, and
listen to concerns. Commodore Bell wants input. At a recent
“All Hands
Meeting” at Pier 36, Commodore Bell announced
that he wants input from the
newest member to the most seasoned Auxiliarist and gave out his e-mail
address and emphatically said,
“Use it!" That is an approachable
Commodore.
In Buoy 13,
Commodore Bell commented that he understands where the action is, at the
flotilla level. Commodore Bell made one promise, RESPECT. He promised
respect for all that Auxiliarists
do and respect for Auxiliarists as
individuals who may occupy many positions but have one rank;
Volunteer.
Commodore Bell listed three
priorities,
recruitment, public affairs, and recognition. He said find your twin, reach
out to the public, and give recognition to your fellow hard working
Auxiliarists.
Commodore Bell wrote in
the, “We are team members, we will work together, and we will accomplish
great things.” Commodore Bell understands and appreciates what is behind the
theme, One Auxiliary.
